Microneedling Auckland
Reveal fresh layers of skin using our microneedling techniques
Using very fine and short needles, microneedling stimulates the production of collagen and elastin to rejuvenate your skin. Under the care of a trained professional, this anti-ageing technique reduces fine wrinkles, tackles scarring, acne scarring, sunspots, and more.
As a minimally invasive procedure, microneedling is safe and cost-effective for some people. Your clinician will either use the microneedling pen device alone or with substances such as hyaluronic acid.
How microneedling works
Microneedling usually involves the use of a tool called a microneedling pen. Each microneedling pen features very small and fine needles, which the person delivering the treatment rolls over your skin.
As the microneedling pen moves over your skin, it makes small pinprick wounds. Once they’re in place, they stimulate the body’s healing processes, which includes the production of collagen and elastin.
Collagen and elastin start to dwindle as you get older, but they’re the building blocks of amazing looking skin. By stimulating their production, you can:
- Reduce scarring as new skin forms
- Reduce acne scarring
- Make fine wrinkles appear less apparent
- Rebalance off-colour skin tone
- Make acne less obvious
- Reduce the appearance of sunspots
Adding hyaluronic acid to the mix
At Opal Dental, we’re always looking for ways to make sure our patients see more benefits from their treatments. As such, we sometimes use hyaluronic acid alongside each microneedling therapy.
As a compound that occurs naturally throughout your body, hyaluronic acid’s chemical structure attracts molecules of water towards it. The result of this is that your skin looks softer, more supple, and plumper. When used alongside dermal microneedling, hyaluronic acid generates a fresh and youthful look.
A safe procedure that works
As one of our favourite anti-ageing procedures, microneedling is available for you.
If you choose to use microneedling to rejuvenate your face, you’ll experience minimal side effects after. Your appointment will last between one and two hours. You may notice some redness and sensitivity, so we advise keeping your skin clear and avoiding UV light for 48 hours. Any pain you’ll experience is minimal and easy to resolve using over the counter painkillers.
